While the terms Republican Wisdom and Science do not form a true oxymoron, the ideas they represent are truly at opposite ends of the ideology.

Societal Acrimony and the flap over AIG

As anger grows over the AIG executives receiving bonuses payed for by taxpayer bailout money. It appears that Congress may be getting the message that "we the people" have had enough of this nonsense. What you are seeing is the phenomenon of societal acrimony. I am of the opinion that the banks, insurance companies and automakers seeking public funds to survive, should be nationalized. If the tax payers are going to pay the bill, then the tax payers should own it.

Trucking: an Industry in Decline

How many times have you looked in your rear view mirror only to see the grill of a large 18 wheeler bearing down on you from behind? You may be traveling the legal speed limit, and yet this driver is bullying you to get out of his or her way so they may ignore the law and put you, your family, and anyone else on the highway in danger. These events often end in tragedy. The smoking, burning hulks of wreckage block the nation's highways every day. Traffic is tied up for hours as the aftermath is cleaned up. Emergency personnel risk their lives cleaning up the carnage. All caused by greed. The result of a trucking company and its agents attempting to make a profit in an industry that has seen it's heyday come and go.

Mississippi: A Red State, but it Doesn't Matter

The weather has been fantastic for the last few days in central Mississippi. Sunny skies, warm temperatures and no humidity make it tough to go back to work after lunch. My candidate, Barack Obama, President-Elect Barack Obama has won. While most of the races in the state went red, the one that counted went blue. As my friend said earlier today, "We won and we did not need Mississippi".
