JwrBlog started in February 2004 and has been online since that time. It is a travel photoblog from places I have visited and various other public domain images. Other content includes blog posts on travel, food, leisure and other commentary. The blog title is based upon my initials. I know, not really all that unique, but it gets the job done.

My goal is to provide you with the best user experience possible. I want you to enjoy visiting this site and to return often.
This site has a new hosting platform that should improve it’s performance. For the past few years this site has a been on pause while I learned some new skills. Hopefully that knowledge will be put to good use as I add new content to the site. I am looking forward to adding much new content in the days and months to come.
JwrBlog uses a custom child theme to modify the standard WordPress Twenty Eleven theme. Page sidebars are eliminated in favor of sidebars in the footer area. This is to facilitate graceful re-sizing for various browser configurations. Nearly 10 percent of my visitors use a mobile device of some type, be it a mobile phone, a tablet or an iPad. I have used CSS3 Media queries to resize the pages for optimized mobile viewing. This has been tested in Google Chrome and Firefox. These 2 browsers account for at least 45% of my traffic. Internet Explorer 9 does a good job working with CSS3 styles. Previous versions of IE, not so much.
