Another Sucessful Fedora Core 5 Installation
Sunday October 22, 2006
A revision is in the works for Jwrblog. Expect the newly redesign site to be active within a couple of weeks. The tool that I am using for web design work is Amaya 9.52 an open source software available at the W3c. After trying both Bluefish and Screem I decide on Amaya. I think we shall get along nicely.
My desktop that dual boots WinXP and Fedora Core 3 was updated yesterday to Fedora Core 5. I cant say that it went off without a hitch but I can report that it was successful. I had problems with the media check utility. The ISO files were burned to CD-ROM on the Fedora Core 3 machine and also on my notebook running FC-5. For a while it looked like I would have problems but after doing a custom install and picking a rather minimal list of packages, it installed and still booted both OS when completed. All this with out killing any chickens or performing any dances or incantations.I still have to use the WinXp machine test my web pages and find out how IE will break the designs that work perfectly well in standards compliant browsers. :)
