New Tag Line for the New Year

I changed the tag line to "New Economy Citizen Media" because I think it represents this site a little more clearly. The old tag line "techno-culture citizen media" could be confused with the genre of music know as techno-culture. The only place this confusion is likely to occur is in the search engines. As you know we live and die by the decisions of software algorithms, well at least here in cyberspace that is a reality.

I want to make some predictions for 2008. It will be amusing to see if they come to pass. It is, after all, customary to do so at the beginning of the year.

• The 2008 Presidential election will be won by a Democrat
• The President will be a white woman or a black man, whatever the outcome, it will be a first.
• The economy will go into a recession or possibly worse by the end of the second quarter or mid third quarter.
• The Republicans will continue beat the war drum, never missing an opportunity to frighten their base.
• The two biggest issues in this election will be the environment and health care, at least they should be the biggest.
• Republicans are on the wrong side of the 2 biggest issues.
• The price of oil will respond to the beat of the war drum and go higher
• We will continued to be reminded that the economy is fundamentally strong.
• At some point the masses will realize the economy is not strong. We will be in the second or third quarter of recession by that point.

So there you have it. My predictions for 2008. I should warn you that I have always been a buy high sell low kind of guy. Agree or disagree at your own peril.
