A new paradigm in personal radio is in beta at Slacker.com. This new paradigm is about choice in personal radio. Take the concept of internet radio and make it portable. All that is needed is an Internet connection and a web browser. Custom design your listening experience. The slacker experience is about "artist radio". When you play an artist radio station the slacker.com website plays that artist and others that would be a good match for the genre.
Slacker, currently in beta, has plans for a portable device and a satellite car kit. The system is currently free but look for a premium pay version at some date. This is definitely worth a look and a listen.
