Time well spent

This weekend has been spent getting acquainted with my new content publishing system, Textpattern. It is a very sleek, elegant, and powerful tool for web site design. It is a dynamic web page generation system that uses a database to generate the pages rendered for viewing in the browser. The Xhtml is then styled for presentation using CSS (cascading style sheets). There is a learning curve and this software is more complex than working in a point and click environment. The rewards should prove to be well worth the effort. I had hoped to be about the task of restoring my posts that were lost in the collapse of my Wordpress site and in due time I will get to that work. Rather than dash ahead with wild abandon, I have taken some time to study the use of this software and how to correctly go about setting things up. Until this task is completed, the inherent broken nature of the web is still in effect with my links that return a 404. Hopefully I will get some content up before my page rank nose dives.
