This gallery features photographs from the coastal mountain range, the north coast near Fort Bragg California, and pictures from Lake County including shots taken around Clearlake. The photos were taken during July of 2004. California is a diverse state with many micro climates, all influenced by the Pacific Ocean. The coastal beach pictures were taken from the beaches found along Highway 1 near Ft. Bragg which is located on the Mendocino county coast of Northern California. Situated half way between San Francisco and Eureka, Ft. Bragg is surrounded by redwood trees and the Pacific ocean. The primary industries in the city are fishing, wood products and tourism.
The pictures from the Clear Lake CA area show the natural beauty of Northern California. It is easy to see why this is such a popular place to live. I enjoyed this area for a little over 11 years as a resident. I have seen many of the back roads and canyons from a motorcycle, a most excellent way to enjoy the scenery.
Lake County is a county located in the north central portion of the U.S. state of California, north of the San Francisco Bay Area. It takes its name from Clear Lake, the dominant geographic feature in the county. As of 2000 the population was 58,309. The county seat is Lakeport.
