This picture was taken in July. About 20 miles inland the temprature was in the low 100's F. It was cooler here on the coast and it looks like it was a cold day but that was not the case. A fog bank hangs just off shore in the summer in this area giving some relief to the heat. If the winds blow from on shore the fog clears and the temprature goes up. The wave are breaking on the beach along Highway 1 .
