gas pump and other memorabilia at the Studebaker Museum in South Bend Indiana

This antique gas pump is known as a "visible" type of pump. It was introduced in the 1920's. The pumps held about 10 gallons, the gasoline was could be seen by the motorist, and the pumps operated on compressed air, usually supplied by the same compressor that filled the tires. This provided a delivery speed that was very efficient for the time. The Wayne Pump company was credited with development by one source I read, however I do not know the brand of this pump.
